It’s a fourth consecutive month of double-digit year-on-year for the Greek new car market in November at +12.6% to 8,070 registrations. The growth is however markedly lower than the previous three months: August was up 39.7%, September up 30.2% and October up 23%. The year-to-date volume is now up 3.7% to 98,797 units. The Top 3 brands all outpace the already very dynamic market. Toyota (+15.6%) easily holds onto the top spot with 14.8% share, followed by Hyundai (+16.8%) up one spot on last month to #2 and Suzuki (+205.7%) tripling its sales year-on-year and up 5 ranks on October to #3. This is the first time Suzuki manages to sit on the Greek podium since at least 2013. Peugeot (-29.9%) is in serious trouble at #4 whereas Volkswagen (+40.7%), BMW (+33%) and Renault (+59.7%) all excel. Below, Alfa Romeo (+217.6%), Skoda (+154.5%), Mitsubishi (+154.2%) and Mazda (+130.4%) stand out.
Model-wise, strikingly the four best-sellers all post triple digit year-on-year surges. The Toyota Yaris soars 141.8% to reclaim the top spot it holds year-to-date, the Hyundai i20 (+103.6%) rises to #2, the Toyota Yaris Cross (+357.5%) scores its second podium finish this year after last January and the Suzuki Vitara (+167.5%) is up 11 ranks on last month to #4. In contrast, the Citroen C3 (-14.4%) rallies back up 63 spots on October to round up the Top 5 but skids year-on-year. The Suzuki S-Cross (+5500%) signs a surreal year-on-year gain to land at #10 with the Renault Clio (+63.8%) and Fiat 500 (+24.3%) also beating the market in the remainder of the Top 10.
